Back in 2021, thousands of people jumped into the Kusama crowdloan for Bit.Country’s MNet Pioneer network, hoping for a future reward. They didn’t just stake KSM-they bet on a vision: a decentralized metaverse where anyone could build their own digital world in under 12 seconds. That reward? NEER tokens. But if you’re asking about NUUM now, you’re probably wondering: What happened to the airdrop? And is there still value left?

What Is NUUM, Really?

NUUM is the main token of MNet Continuum, the live Polkadot parachain built by Bit.Country. It’s not just another crypto token-it’s the fuel for a whole metaverse ecosystem. Think of it like Ethereum’s ETH, but for digital countries. Users create 3D worlds, host events, sell NFTs, run play-to-earn games, and even tokenize their Discord or Telegram groups into full-blown economies. All of it runs on NUUM.

Bit.Country’s platform lets you launch your own "Bit Country"-a customizable metaverse with land, avatars, chat, and token economies-all without writing a single line of code. It’s designed for everyday people, not just developers. But behind the scenes, it’s powered by advanced tech: WASM and Ethereum-compatible smart contracts, making it flexible enough for pros while simple enough for beginners.

The Airdrop Was Never Just NUUM

Here’s where things get messy. The big airdrop people remember wasn’t for NUUM-it was for NEER. That’s the token from the Kusama-based Pioneer network, which ran as a testnet before MNet launched on Polkadot.

In late 2021, Bit.Country ran a crowdloan on Kusama. People locked up KSM to help secure a parachain slot. In return, they got NEER tokens. The reward? Over 72 NEER for every 1 KSM staked. The first 1,000 participants got extra bonuses. Referrers got 2.5% of their referrals’ rewards. The whole thing raised over $3 million in KSM.

When MNet officially launched on Polkadot in February 2024, the NEER tokens were mapped to NUUM. That’s the key detail: NEER became NUUM. If you participated in the Kusama crowdloan, your NEER balance was automatically converted into NUUM at a 1:1 ratio. So technically, the airdrop happened-but it was called NEER at the time.

How Was NUUM Distributed?

The NUUM token supply is capped at 1 billion tokens. Right now, about 132 million are in circulation. Here’s how they were split:

  • 40% went to community incentives-this includes the Kusama crowdloan rewards (NEER → NUUM), referral bonuses, and ecosystem grants.
  • 25% was allocated to investors and early backers, with vesting schedules ranging from 12 to 24 months.
  • 20% reserved for the team and future employees, locked and released slowly.
  • 15% went to ecosystem development, partnerships, and marketing.
The initial distribution kicked off on February 29, 2024, at 00:00 UTC+3. The first 30% of crowdloan rewards were unlocked immediately. The remaining 70% were released linearly over the next 12 months. So if you got NEER in 2022, your NUUM tokens likely finished unlocking by February 2025.

What’s NUUM Worth Today?

The price tells a tough story. NUUM hit an all-time high of $0.6046 in March 2024-right after launch. Today, it trades around $0.001958. That’s a 99.68% drop.

It’s not dead, though. It hit a low of $0.0009996 in April 2025 and has bounced back nearly 96%. That kind of volatility is common in early metaverse projects. Daily trading volume is low-around $8,840-and most of it happens on decentralized exchanges like MEXC and Gate.io.

The market cap is only $259K. The fully diluted valuation (if all 1 billion tokens were in circulation) is $1.95M. That means most of the supply is still locked up-investor, team, and ecosystem wallets. If those tokens start unlocking in large amounts, the price could drop further. If adoption picks up, it could rebound.

Is NUUM Still Active?

Yes. MNet Continuum is still running on Polkadot as Leased Core ID 34, with its lease confirmed until October 20, 2025. Bit.Country hasn’t shut down. The platform still lets you create metaverses, buy land, and interact with other users. The super app works. Avatars load. NFTs trade. Communities still gather.

But there’s a catch. The token contract was migrated earlier this year. If you’re holding NUUM in an old wallet or exchange, you might be holding the wrong version. Bit.Country’s official site and Twitter pushed out a notice: update your token address. If you’re using an old contract, your NUUM might not be usable in the ecosystem.

What Can You Do With NUUM Today?

If you have NUUM, here’s what you can actually use it for:

  • Buy virtual land in Bit.Country metaverses
  • Pay for event tickets or VIP access to community gatherings
  • Stake in community governance votes
  • Trade on supported exchanges like MEXC, Gate.io, and BitMart
  • Use it as currency in play-to-earn games built on the platform
There’s no staking reward program yet. No yield farming. No DeFi integrations. The focus is still on building the metaverse, not financial products. That’s both a strength and a weakness. It means NUUM’s value is tied to real usage, not speculation.

Why Did NUUM Crash So Hard?

Three reasons:

  1. Overhype at launch-many people bought NUUM expecting it to be the next SOL or AVAX. The metaverse bubble popped fast.
  2. Lack of exchange support-it’s not on Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken. That limits liquidity and retail access.
  3. Slow adoption-while the tech works, few mainstream users are actually building or living in Bit.Country metaverses. Most activity is still from early adopters and devs.
It’s not a scam. The team delivered the tech. But delivering tech doesn’t always mean building a market.

Should You Still Try to Get NUUM?

If you’re looking to speculate? Probably not. The price is too volatile, the volume too low, and the upside uncertain.

But if you’re interested in metaverse building? Maybe. You can still create your own Bit Country for free. You can explore existing worlds. You can join communities that are already using NUUM as their internal currency. If you believe in decentralized digital spaces, NUUM is still one of the few tokens that lets you actually use it-not just hold it.

Where to Find NUUM Now

You can trade NUUM on these exchanges:

  • MEXC - most active trading pair: NUUM/USDT
  • Gate.io - also supports NUUM/USDT
  • BitMart - smaller volume, but available
Don’t buy NUUM from random websites or Telegram groups. Only use verified exchanges. And always double-check the contract address. The official one is deployed on Polkadot’s MNet Continuum.

What’s Next for NUUM and Bit.Country?

The team is working on:

  • Integrating AI-generated NPCs into metaverses
  • Adding cross-chain bridges to Ethereum and Solana
  • Launching a mobile app for easier access
  • Partnering with Web2 social platforms to help users migrate their followers into Bit Countries
If they pull off even half of this, NUUM could see renewed interest. But right now, it’s a project in survival mode. It’s not dead-but it’s not thriving either.

Was there a NUUM airdrop, and who got it?

There wasn’t a direct NUUM airdrop. Instead, participants in the Kusama crowdloan for MNet Pioneer received NEER tokens. When MNet launched on Polkadot in February 2024, NEER was automatically converted to NUUM at a 1:1 ratio. So if you staked KSM during the crowdloan (Nov 2021-Oct 2022), you got NUUM.

Is NUUM still being distributed today?

No. The main distribution ended in February 2025 when the last of the crowdloan rewards finished unlocking. No new airdrops are planned. Any claims of new NUUM airdrops are likely scams.

Can I still earn NUUM by participating in Bit.Country?

You can’t earn NUUM through airdrops anymore, but you can earn it by creating and managing your own Bit Country. If you host events, sell NFTs, or charge entry fees in your metaverse, users pay you in NUUM. It’s a real economy-just not a passive one.

Why is NUUM’s price so low?

NUUM crashed because of overhype at launch, lack of listing on major exchanges, and slow user adoption. While the tech works, few people outside early crypto users are actively using Bit.Country’s metaverses. The market hasn’t caught up to the vision yet.

Is NUUM safe to hold now?

Holding NUUM carries high risk due to low liquidity and price volatility. But if you believe in decentralized metaverses and plan to use the platform, holding NUUM makes sense. Just don’t invest more than you can afford to lose. Always use the official contract address and avoid third-party wallets claiming to support NUUM.

NUUM is dead. Stop pretending it's not. You staked KSM for nothing.
    Wasted time.

I know it's been rough but I still believe in what Bit.Country is building.
Metaverses take time. Look at how long it took for crypto to go mainstream.
Keep building, keep exploring. The real value isn't in the price chart.
It's in the worlds people create.

They mapped NEER to NUUM? Yeah right. That’s a cover-up. The team kept 80% for themselves and let us get crumbs.
Check the contract. It’s rigged. I’ve seen this before with other "decentralized" projects.
They’re waiting for the next pump to dump on newbies.
Don’t trust them. They’re all the same.

Why even care? India has better things to do than play with fake metaverses.
    NUUM? More like NU-what?
